A Psalm of David ~ Psalm 4:4

In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.

Life Connection - Many of us were raised to believe that anger and sin were the same thing. This verse suggests otherwise. Anger is a feeling; expressing that feeling inappropriately is sin. Our faith helps us to feel all our feelings, as David did, and to learn to express them in healthy ways.
A Psalm of David ~ 37:8

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil.

Life Connection - Another way of saying "do not fret" is "let go. "When we hold on to envy or anger at those who appear to get away with evil, it doesn't hurt them, it hurts us.Moreover, it saps the energy we need for more important things: trusting, delighting in and committing our ways to God. But before we can enjoy God's benefits--safety, fulfilled desires, righteousness, justice--we have to let go and let God deal with evildoers.
