risk

Your past does not have to determine your future. Can God do for me now as He had in the past for His people? That is the question we sometimes ask when we are in a dilemma. I know it has crossed my mind when trying to make a choice in a important decision.

How do we see God in similar situations as Rahab had? Do we give it up to Him and say Lord, your way, your will, and I trust you in whatever is going to happen as I take this step of faith. Is my God bigger than my little problems or is it the other way around.

With her decision to help out the Israelites, she saved herself, family, and even went on to become a part of the lineage of our Lord and Savior Jesus. How incredible is that? When faith and action came together to do God’s will, she was rewarded.

In the same breath I look at our walk, our conversions. Each of us had to take a leap of faith when it is so easy to say ‘no way,’ that ‘religious stuff,’ or ‘mumbo jumbo’ is not for me. Only weak people need that because they cannot do for themselves. It is only a crutch to help them get through things that are too challenging.

How much risk did we actually make by changing our lives by walking with Christ? Rahab risked her and her family’s lives doing so.

So glad we did decide to wake up and accept the greatest gift given to all humankind. It is a decision I am forever grateful that we were given the opportunity to make ,and glad we did.
