What does the bible mention about seeds and soil…

i do like this explanation of “sowing seeds” from biblestudytools.com:

The Bible often uses metaphors for conveying wisdom and truth. One example of this is “sowing seeds” of love and righteousness that will blossom into beautiful things later in life. This reminds us to think beyond the present to the future and how our actions and choices will impact tomorrow and beyond. Scripture warns us to discern what we do in life as we will ultimately reap what we sow.

let’s first start with specific verses and then what it means:

6 sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well. ~ecclesiastes 11:6~

8 whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. ~galatians 6:8~

12 isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him. ~genesis 26:12~

the following parable on “seeds” is found in chapter 8 of the book of luke:

5 “a farmer went out to sow his seed. as he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up.

6 some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture.

7 other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants.

8 still other seed fell on good soil. it came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.

11 this is the meaning of the parable: the seed is The Word of God.

12 those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

13 those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. they believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.

14 the seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.

15 but the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

the following parable in 2 corinthians 9 describes why you should be generous:

6 remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

7 each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

8 and God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

9 as it is written: “they have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.”

10 now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.

11 you will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

12 this service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.
